Telugu Woman Struck By Seattle Police Car Dies

A 23-year-old Indian woman has died after being hit by a Seattle police car on Monday night, Seattle police said.

The young woman, identified as Janavi Kandula, was struck by a police car that was participating in an emergency call by the Seattle Fire Department.

According to a Seattle Times report, the King County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Janavi died from multiple blunt force trauma.

The officer has been with the police since November 2019, and at this point there is no reason to believe that he intended to beat the woman on purpose, I read in a media communication from the Seattle Police Department.

Emergency services were immediately called and the fire department enacted life-saving procedures, but the effort was unsuccessful as Jhanavi lost his life due to the injuries sustained.

An investigation is underway to determine the nature of the accident, the Seattle Times report concluded.
